What we did and what we will do
The event we participated in was a productive day as we met at the WIE booth to talk to potential members while showcasing the importance and success of our own affinity group. We explained to the new members the activities of our WIE affinity group, called esprit, as well as the activities of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) in general. During the event, we engaged with potential members by sharing our personal experiences and the impact that WIE has had on our careers. We emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in the field of engineering, and how WIE is working towards creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all individuals interested in the field. We also highlighted the benefits of being part of an affinity group, such as networking opportunities, skill-building workshops, and access to resources that can help members advance their careers in the field of engineering. Through these conversations, we were able to effectively communicate the value of being part of an affinity group and the impact it can have on one's career growth and personal development.

IEEE DAY 5 October 2022As part of Pink October, our IEEE ESPRIT Women in Engineering affinity group collaborated with Associa Med to organize a stand aimed at raising awareness among young students about the importance of breast cancer screening. The event was a great success, and we were surrounded by amazing people who were passionate about the cause. The goal of the event was to encourage women to be screened for breast cancer once a year from a certain age, and we worked tirelessly to spread this message to as many people as possible. At the stand, we provided information and resources about breast cancer screening, and also shared our personal experiences and stories to help raise awareness about the importance of early detection. Throughout the event, we used all of our free time to achieve a good result, working tirelessly to connect with as many people as possible and spread the word about breast cancer screening. The event was a great success, and we were able to connect with many young students and encourage them to take their health seriously and get screened for breast cancer. Overall, the event was a great opportunity for our affinity group to work together towards an important cause, and to raise awareness about an important health issue. We are proud to have been a part of such a meaningful event, and we look forward to continuing our work to promote women's health and wellness in the future.
Hope October Awareness 21 October 2022Our affinity group, IEEE ESPRIT Women in Engineering, recently held an event aimed at helping our members learn how to search for a job effectively. We were surrounded by amazing people like our friends from Spark and Deep flow, who helped make the event a great success. The event started at 01:30 PM with an opening speech, and then we proceeded with a series of workshops. The first workshop was an "interview skills" workshop held by Ms. Mayssa Souissi, which started at 01:45 PM. This workshop provided valuable insights and guidance on how to prepare for job interviews and present oneself in a professional and confident manner. After a 10-minute break, we moved on to the second workshop, which was an "employment behavior" workshop held by Mr. Samy Jaidene. This workshop focused on the importance of developing positive and professional behaviors in the workplace, and provided practical tips on how to build strong relationships with colleagues and managers. Finally, we finished with Mr. Ilyes Nasraoui, who presented an "AI introduction and opportunities" workshop. This workshop provided valuable insights into the field of AI, and explored the many career opportunities that are available in this rapidly growing industry.
JOBLIK 26 October 2022Aerokids has begun on December 3rd ,we brought kids from their school to our university in order to involve them in college life. they had the chance to assist in 3 diffrent sessions such as : Aeronautical and symplified aerodynamics session: The kids have learned how planes fly with the examples of birds and kites. Also, they had the opportunity to create their own aircraft with simple tools and participate in a mini competition on Whose plane will fly the furthest. -Solar system fair: During this session kids participated in booths where they have to guess the planets and their shapes based on The names and hints given to them. -Astronomy and web development session: In This part we started by introducing the solar system to the kids and answering all their questions about the universe, then we taught them the basics of HTML in a very simplified way and as a result, they ended up by creating their own web page about astronomy with the help of our team.
Aerokids 3 December 2022As part of our ongoing Star Program initiative, we recently had the opportunity to visit the "El Bared" school in Sokra to engage with the students on environmental awareness and conservation. Our session began with a brief but informative presentation on the negative impact of human activities on the environment and the importance of adopting sustainable practices. Afterwards, we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty, as we joined the enthusiastic students in planting trees and other greenery on the school grounds. The kids were thrilled to get involved in the process, and we were delighted to see them learning valuable skills in the process. To wrap up the day, we held a Q&A session with the students, where they had the chance to ask us questions about our presentation and share their own thoughts on the environment. As a token of appreciation for their participation, we distributed small gifts to the students and also presented them with a prototype of a machine that can help reduce water wastage during irrigation.
WIE star program 10 December 2022The UI/UX Design workshop first session was held on Wednesday, February 12st, by IEEE WIE ESPRIT SB. The workshop aimed to provide participants with an overview of UI/UX design principles and techniques, and give them an opportunity to put those concepts into practice. The event was attended by around 30 students from various majors. The workshop was led by our Media Manager 'Aziz Hbaili' who is a professional UI/UX designer with several years of experience. The workshop began with an introduction to UI/UX design and its importance in creating effective and user-friendly digital products. The speaker also shared some examples of good and bad UI/UX design to help participants understand the importance of user-centered design.
UI/UX DESIGN 12 February 2023On February 25, 2023, our team collaborated with the IEEE RAS Chapter - ESPRIT Student Branch to visit a local school and conduct a workshop on robotics and Arduino. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the basics of coding and programming to the kids, and to help them understand the fundamentals of robotics. During the workshop, the kids got a unique opportunity to explore and learn about robotics in a fun and engaging way. They were able to write basic code and test drive a robot, which proved to be an exhilarating experience for them. The hands-on experience with the robots helped the students to understand how they work and how to program them. The workshop was designed to foster a love for technology and innovation among the children, inspiring them to pursue a career in these fields. The kids showed a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity during the workshop, and they were able to ask questions and share their ideas.
EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF INNOVATORS : A WORKSHOP ON ARDUINO AND ROBOTICS FOR KIDS 25 February 2023During a journey to the scouts on Mars 5, 2023, our crew had the opportunity of working with the IEEE AESS Chapter ESPRIT Student Branch. The tour was designed to inspire kids to design and construct their own satellites and to learn about the wonders of some of NASA's most well-known missions. We were able to involve the scouts in practical space exploration activities because to our partnership with the IEEE AESS Chapter, which was thrilling and productive. After learning the fundamentals of satellite construction, the scouts were able to collaborate to design and build their own miniature spacecraft out of inexpensive components. In order to improve their problem-solving and teamwork skills, the scouts were encouraged to think creatively and work cooperatively throughout the program.
